Overwatch is introducing its sixth new hero of the year, Sierra, a rifle-wielding damage dealer. Revealed through hero and gameplay trailers, Sierra utilizes a drone for aerial repositioning, blending elements of existing heroes like Sojourn and Freja.
While early artwork hinted at ties to Ashe's Deadlock Gang, Sierra is presented as an ally fighting against them within the Overwatch narrative. Game director Alec Dawson previously described the upcoming hero as having a "really satisfying skill shot," believed to be Sierra's homing dart.
The current Season 1, which has featured five new heroes and a storyline about Vendetta's rise in Talon, is concluding next week. Developers plan to release a new hero each season, with Sierra set to play a key role in opposing Talon's influence and protecting Overwatch.
