In a major announcement for fans of the hit Starz series Outlander, the network has revealed that the show's eighth and final season will premiere on March 6, 2025. This comes just over a year after the conclusion of season seven, which wrapped up in January 2024.
While the main Outlander series is coming to an end, the franchise will continue with the renewal of the prequel series Blood of My Blood for a second season. The original Outlander series, based on Diana Gabaldon's novels, will conclude its run after eight seasons and 101 episodes, making it the longest-running original series in Starz history.
The final season of Outlander will see the Frasers, played by Caitríona Balfe and Sam Heughan, facing new challenges as the Revolutionary War has followed them home to their settlement of Fraser's Ridge. With new arrivals and changes during their years away, the family must confront the question of what they are willing to sacrifice to stay together and protect their home. As family secrets come to light, the Frasers' united front is tested, and their fight for Fraser's Ridge has only just begun.
Alongside Balfe and Heughan, the Outlander cast includes Sophie Skelton, Richard Rankin, John Bell, David Berry, Charles Vandervaart, and Izzy Meikle-Small. The series is executive produced by Matthew B. Roberts, Ronald D. Moore, Maril Davis, Toni Graphia, Luke Schelhaas, Andy Harries, Jim Kohlberg, Balfe, and Heughan.
