Summary
- Outer Banks creator accused of confronting and shaking a production assistant
- Co-stars Stokes and Cline intervened to de-escalate the situation
- Tensions reportedly high on set, but incident not considered "unusual behavior"

According to reports, tensions have been running high on the set of the Netflix series Outer Banks. Last month, the show's creator and director, Jonas Pate, was allegedly involved in an altercation with a production assistant while filming in Dubrovnik, Croatia.
Pate is said to have put his hands on the PA and shaken her while shouting in her face. This prompted co-stars Chase Stokes, 33, and Madelyn Cline, 27, to step in and help de-escalate the situation.
Sources close to the production claim the outburst was not considered "unusual behavior" for Pate, who is also the creator of the Prime Video series The Runarounds. Despite the incident, filming on Outer Banks continued after the alleged confrontation.
Outer Banks, which debuted in 2020, follows the conflict between two groups of teenagers in a coastal North Carolina town. The show is set to conclude with its fifth and final season, which was confirmed last November. Fans were recently left shocked by the season 4 finale, which saw the death of one of the main characters, JJ, played by Rudy Pankow.
