Jessica Chastain's New Horror Flick Unveils Terrifying Doppelgänger

Jessica Chastain is making a chilling return to the horror genre with her new film, "Other Mommy." In this upcoming movie, Chastain takes on dual roles, playing both a young girl's mother, Ursula, and a sinister paranormal entity that has invaded their home and assumed Ursula's appearance. The trailer depicts the entity, referred to as "Other Mommy," engaging in unsettling activities within the household.

The film's official synopsis describes it as a terrifying journey into the world of Bela, a young girl who forms a bond with the sinister entity resembling her mother. Chastain's involvement was announced in April 2025, with the film being an adaptation of the novel "Incidents Around the House." Directed by Rob Savage, "Other Mommy" also features a supporting cast including Arabella Olivia Clark, Dichen Lachman, Arian Moayed, and Karen Allen.

"Other Mommy" is scheduled to premiere in theaters on October 9, 2026. This role continues Chastain's history with horror films, following her performances in "Mama" and "It: Chapter Two." This marks her first major horror role since her Oscar win in 2022.
