Carolina Cavalli's sophomore feature, "The Kidnapping of Arabella," has been acquired by Oscilloscope Laboratories for North American distribution. Porcaroli, who earned the Venice Horizons Award for best actress for her performance in "Arabella," shares the screen with Lucrezia Guglielmino and Chris Pine, marking Pine's first Italian-language role.
The narrative follows Holly, a drifting young woman who encounters Arabella, an eight-year-old runaway. Holly perceives this meeting as a significant event, embarking on a spontaneous journey with the child. The film delves into themes of identity and alienation, exploring a bond formed between kindred outsiders. "The Kidnapping of Arabella" is slated for a theatrical release later this summer.
