New Stars Join Oscar Isaac's Vegas Drama 'The Roman'

Netflix's new drama series, 'The Roman,' set in present-day Las Vegas, has added Shalom Brune-Franklin and Jimmy O. Yang to its cast. Brune-Franklin will play Jessica Christine "JC" Griffin, an ambitious casino insider with her own future plans. Yang is cast as Rich Tzu, an educated executive serving as a direct rival to Oscar Isaac's character, Bobby Redman.
Oscar Isaac stars as Bobby Redman, the president of a prominent Las Vegas hotel casino. As his authority faces threats, Bobby must take significant risks to maintain his position and expand his influence over the city. The eight-episode series will explore a modernized, albeit still dangerous, version of the Las Vegas Strip.
This series marks a return to Vegas storytelling for showrunners Brian Koppelman and David Levien, known for 'Rounders' and 'Ocean's Thirteen.' Previously announced cast members include Betty Gilpin, Alec Baldwin, and David Costabile. JC Chandor is slated to direct the initial two episodes.
