The Critics Choice Association has just unveiled the nominees for the 10th annual Critics Choice Documentary Awards, set to take place on November 9th, 2025. Leading this year's nominations is the documentary "Orwell: 2+2=5," which scored an impressive 7 nods, including for best documentary feature, director, editing, score, and narration.
Close behind is Netflix's "The Perfect Neighbor," which received 6 nominations, including for best documentary feature and true crime documentary. The awards ceremony, hosted by actor Aasif Mandvi, will honor the year's outstanding achievements in nonfiction filmmaking.
"The nominated films and series this year remind us how documentary storytelling can illuminate truth, inspire empathy, and deepen our understanding of the world," said Christopher Campbell, vice president of documentaries for the Critics Choice Association. In addition to the competitive categories, the event will also recognize legendary documentarian Ken Burns with the Critics Choice Impact Award, and Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady with the CCA's Pennebaker Award.
