Film Title 'Operation Sindoor' Sparks Industry Frenzy

Following India's significant 'Operation Sindoor,' a race erupted among film production companies to register the title. Bollywood Hungama reported on May 8, 2025, that several companies sought the rights, leading to industry discussions about title allocation.
Indian Motion Picture Producers' Association (IMPPA) president Abhay Sinha confirmed in May 2026 that Bihar Film Company, led by Ankit Singh and Sangram Singh, secured the title. Sinha highlighted their first-mover advantage as the deciding factor.
Concurrently, Vivek Agnihotri and Bhushan Kumar are producing a film based on Lt Gen KJS 'Tiny' Dhillon's book, 'Operation Sindoor: The Untold Story of India's Deep Strikes Inside Pakistan.' An official announcement was made on March 26.
Regarding Agnihotri's project, Abhay Sinha mentioned he was offered two alternative titles: 'The Kashmir Files 2' or 'The Night Of Operation Sindoor.' Agnihotri previously directed the successful film 'The Kashmir Files' in 2022, which depicted the persecution of Kashmiri Pandits.
