Comet Ore Beats: Open Mike Eagle's 'Doomed!' Arrives

After two decades of friendship and collaboration, Open Mike Eagle and Kenny Segal have released their full-length album, 'Doomed!', on August 14 via Backwoodz. The Los Angeles-based rapper Open Mike Eagle stated that Segal expressed a desire to build something more substantial than just a few beats per project. He described Segal's beats as "ore from a different comet," each serving as a canvas for his artistic impressions of a "dead world."

The album 'Doomed!' includes 15 tracks, with features from Hemlock Ernst and Billy Woods. "Unfinished Concrete Initials," featuring Hemlock Ernst, is highlighted as one of the singles. This is Open Mike Eagle's fourth consecutive year releasing an album, following 'Neighborhood Gods Unlimited' last July. Kenny Segal's most recent album was a 2025 collaboration with R.A.P. Ferreira titled 'The Night Green Side of It.'
