Oneohtrix Point Never Drops Tranquilizer Album, Scores New Film

In a major announcement, experimental musician Daniel Lopatin, better known by his stage name Oneohtrix Point Never, has revealed plans for a new album titled Tranquilizer. The album, set to be released digitally on November 17 and in physical formats on November 21 via Warp Records, is described by Lopatin as "a record shaped by commercial audio construction kits from a bygone era -- an index of clichés turned inside out."

Tranquilizer follows Oneohtrix Point Never's 2023 album Again and is said to evoke "a certain kind of madness and ennui in the heart of culture today." Ahead of the album's release, Lopatin has shared the first three tracks, "For Residue," "Bumpy," and "Lifeworld," giving fans a taste of the sonic direction.

In addition to the new album, Lopatin has also scored the upcoming Josh Safdie film Marty Supreme, which is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on December 25. The film, starring Timothée Chalamet, is expected to further showcase Lopatin's versatility as a composer and his ability to craft immersive, genre-bending soundscapes.
