The One Show will temporarily be removed from schedules as it embarks on a summer break. Presenter Alex Jones announced the upcoming hiatus on Thursday, June 25, confirming that Friday's episode would be the last before the show goes off air for the season. The final broadcast before the break will feature guests Alexander Armstrong and Annabel Croft, along with Joanna Page and Mathew Horne from Gavin and Stacey.
The program also encountered a brief moment of disruption when actor Martin Clunes inadvertently swore on live television. While discussing the American adaptation of his series, Clunes made an expletive remark about naming a dog, which led to Roman Kemp issuing a swift apology to viewers. Alex Jones playfully admonished Clunes, a veteran of the show, for the slip-up, while Clunes attempted to justify his comment by noting the dog was female.
