Olympia Reborn: London's £1.3bn Cultural Hub Unveiled

The iconic Olympia exhibition centre in west London has officially reopened after a significant £1.3bn redevelopment. This transformation is poised to establish the landmark as a premier destination for culture, entertainment, and business.

Initially opened in 1886, the venue has undergone six years of extensive renovation. Developers anticipate that once fully operational, Olympia will welcome around 3.5 million visitors annually and host approximately 800 events per year, significantly boosting London's economy and creating an estimated 9,000 jobs.

The redevelopment, conceptualized by Thomas Heatherwick, includes 2.5 acres of public space and a striking glass rooftop canopy offering panoramic city views. A new highlight is the British Airways ARC, a 3,800-capacity music venue operated by AEG Presents, set to host its inaugural performances on June 16, 2026.

Further enhancements to the campus include plans for two new hotels and a substantial office building. The project is scheduled to conclude in 2027 with the unveiling of the British Airways Theatre, marking the largest new theatre construction in London in over fifty years.
