Olof Dreijer, known for his work in the synth-pop duo The Knife, is set to release his debut solo album titled 'Loud Bloom' on May 8. The album will be released under Dirty Hit's electronic imprint, DH2. 'Loud Bloom' features ten tracks, including six songs that have been released over the past three years, such as 'Rosa Rugosa,' 'Cassia,' 'Coral,' 'Acuyuye,' 'Blood Lily,' and 'Iris.' A reworked version of 'Camelia' from Dreijer's 2023 EP is also included.
The new single, 'Echoed Dafino,' is a highlight, featuring vocals from Sudanese singer Maman. Dreijer expressed his profound admiration for Maman's voice, explaining that his version of 'Dafino' evolved into something more than a remix. He also produced four tracks on his sibling Karin Dreijer's latest album, 'Radical Romantics,' under the Fever Ray alias, and previously released a steel drum music record with Mt. Sims.
