Rodrigo & Roan Drop Surprise 'Expectations' Remix

Pop powerhouses Olivia Rodrigo and Chappell Roan have joined forces to release a remixed version of Rodrigo's song "Expectations." This collaboration, which arrived on October 15, 2026, injects new life into the track from Rodrigo's latest album. The updated version boasts an 1980s-esque synth-pop anthem feel, amplifying the original song's theme of setting high standards in relationships.

The "Expectations" remix also comes with a music video that playfully adopts a game-show theme, featuring the two artists competing on "The Big Expectations Show." This release marks a significant moment, as it is a rare collaboration for Rodrigo and a first for Roan, who has never before featured on another artist's track.

Rodrigo and Roan share a deep friendship, further cemented by their collaborative work with producer Dan Nigro. Roan previously opened for Rodrigo on multiple tours and even performed together at Rodrigo's founded Daisy Chain Fields festival, an event dedicated to supporting women and girls. Roan has expressed profound admiration for Rodrigo's use of her platform for good.
