Oheka Castle, a historic French Renaissance-style estate on Long Island, is set to be auctioned on October 27. This sprawling mansion, larger than 110,000 square feet, gained significant pop culture recognition as the setting for Taylor Swift's 2014 music video "Blank Space."
Built between 1914 and 1919 for Otto Kahn, Oheka Castle is noted as the second-largest private residence ever constructed in the United States. Its historical significance is further highlighted by its inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places.
The estate's cinematic history predates Swift's video, featuring in Orson Welles' 1941 film "Citizen Kane" and more recently in HBO's "Succession." The property has undergone a substantial $40 million restoration.
With 127 rooms, including 34 unique bedroom suites, and elaborate grounds with reflecting pools and fountains, Oheka Castle has also become a renowned wedding and events venue on the East Coast.
