Vishal Bhardwaj's romantic thriller 'O' Romeo,' featuring Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri, has achieved a solid performance during its initial weekdays. The film concluded its first weekend strongly and maintained momentum into Monday and Tuesday. By its fifth day, 'O' Romeo' collected approximately ₹3 crore nett, pushing its total collection close to the ₹50 crore nett benchmark.
This box office performance represents Shahid Kapoor's most significant run since 'Kabir Singh.' Early indicators suggest it is performing better than his previous releases, 'Deva' and 'Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya.' The film, inspired by Hussain Zaidi's 'Mafia Queens of Mumbai,' has two more days of relatively smooth sailing before facing new competition.
Starting Friday, 'O' Romeo' will contend with new film releases, including 'Assi' and 'Do Deewane Seher Mein.' The movie is further bolstered by a notable ensemble cast that includes Nana Patekar, Avinash Tiwary, Vikrant Massey, and Tammannaah Bhatia. It remains to be seen how the film will fare after surpassing the ₹50 crore milestone, especially with new releases entering the market.
