The New York International Children's Film Festival (NYICFF), scheduled from February 28 to March 15, has secured an exclusive preview screening of Disney Pixar's new film, 'Hoppers,' for its opening night. This highly anticipated animated feature, set for a wider U.S. theatrical release on March 6, features a notable voice cast including Meryl Streep, Ego Nwodim, Dave Franco, Piper Curda, Bobby Moynihan, and Jon Hamm.
Directed by Daniel Chong, 'Hoppers' tells the story of a teenage animal enthusiast who uses technology to transfer her consciousness into a robotic beaver to explore the mysteries of the animal kingdom. Maria-Christina Villaseñor, NYICFF Director of Programming, expressed excitement about introducing Pixar's artistry and Chong's vision to a new generation of filmgoers.
The festival will commence with a themed pajama party and red carpet event. Program highlights include the U.S. premiere of 'My Life In Versailles,' an animated film about an orphan who moves to live with her uncle at the Palace of Versailles, with the directors in attendance for a Q&A. Additionally, NYICFF will debut the short film program 'Native Stories' and screen the documentary 'Remaining Native' about track star Ku Stevens.
