Northampton Drama Teacher Praises Alan Carr's Winning 'Traitor' Performance

According to a recent news report, Alan Carr's secondary school drama teacher, Harry Bowden, was highly impressed with the comedian's winning performance on the BBC's reality show 'The Celebrity Traitors'. Carr, who hails from Northampton, attended Weston Favell Upper School where Bowden taught him between the ages of 13 and 18.

Bowden recalled that even during his school days, Carr displayed a keen enthusiasm and dedication to his craft, which suggested he was destined for a career in performing. The former teacher noted that "the enthusiasm he showed [in lessons], the work that he put in, he was incredibly keen, and it showed it [performing] was something he was probably going to do."

Carr's triumph on 'The Celebrity Traitors' has further validated Bowden's assessment. The 49-year-old comedian emerged victorious as a "Traitor" on the show, without his fellow contestants realizing, and won £87,500 for his chosen charity, Neuroblastoma UK. Bowden, who admitted to not watching the entire series but catching the dramatic finale, was "very impressed" by Carr's performance.

The former teacher expressed his pride in Carr's accomplishments, stating that "what you see on TV is something he's worked on over years, he's honed it." Carr and Bowden recently reunited on Michael McIntyre's Big Show, where the comedian described his former teacher as "the most amazing" he ever had.
