24 Apr
Summary
- Nordisk Film Production and Reinvent Yellow inked a distribution deal.
- Deal covers 'Snake Killer' and 'Sogn Murders' crime series.
- Nordisk plans six to seven series annually from 2027.

Nordisk Film Production has partnered with Reinvent Yellow, a leading Nordic sales, financing, and production outfit, to distribute three high-end crime series. This collaboration includes "Snake Killer," Prime Video's first Danish Original, which premiered internationally at Canneseries, and "Sogn Murders" from TV2 Norway, based on popular novels. A third, as-yet-unnamed Nordic crime intellectual property is also part of the deal.
Reinvent Yellow will manage worldwide distribution for "Snake Killer" outside the Nordic region and for "Sogn Murders" outside the Nordics and German-speaking areas. Nordisk Film Production aims to create long-running entertainment with these series, expressing confidence in Reinvent Yellow's ability to connect with the international market. This partnership aligns with Reinvent Yellow's ambitious growth strategy to invest in Nordic and English-speaking content.
"Snake Killer" is a four-part crime thriller starring Pilou Asbæk as a corrupt police officer, set against the backdrop of Copenhagen. "Sogn Murders" offers a lighter, cozy crime tone, set in the Sognefjord region of Western Norway and starring Kristofer Hivju and Eili Harboe. The latter achieved over one million viewers on its launch in Norway and has a remarkable 98% completion rate.
Looking ahead, Nordisk Film Production plans to release six to seven series annually across Denmark, Norway, and Sweden starting in 2027, focusing on engaging content with lasting appeal. The company also plans to leverage Denmark's new 25% tax rebates for local spend to bolster its international co-production strategy.
