An aviation company has initiated a ₹3 crore civil defamation lawsuit against actor Nora Fatehi at a Gandhinagar court. Dunes Aviation alleges that Fatehi's "derogatory and reckless" social media comments, specifically her description of their chartered aircraft as a "Lego airplane," have caused significant damage to its reputation.
The incident occurred last December when Fatehi recorded videos during a Mumbai-Jaipur flight, labeling the Cessna Citation CJ2 aircraft a "miniature," a "toy," and a "Lego airplane." These videos, posted on her Instagram account with over 4.6 crore followers, allegedly led to booking cancellations and adversely affected the company's commercial operations.
Dunes Aviation asserts that Fatehi's statements were "reckless, irresponsible, and made without any technical knowledge." The company argues that her substantial follower base amplified the "serious reputational damage, loss of goodwill and adverse commercial impact." The suit, filed in April, also requests the immediate removal of offending social media content and a public clarification from the actor.
The aviation firm maintains that the aircraft was standard, DGCA-certified, airworthy, and lawfully operated for the journey. The court is scheduled to hear the matter on September 25.
