Noida Airport Unveils 100-Foot Art Masterpiece

As passengers arrive at Noida International Airport on June 15, they will be welcomed by significant artistic installations. Padma Shri artist Paresh Maity has created two major works, commissioned to imbue the airport with soul and wonder. 'Jagriti,' an expansive 8x100 foot painting, is structured around the six limbs of classical art theory.
This masterpiece, completed in October 2025, features six panels dedicated to Uttar Pradesh's spiritually and culturally significant locations. These include Varanasi, Sarnath, the Taj Mahal in Agra, Kusum Sarovar in Mathura-Vrindavan, Ayodhya, and the Mahakumbh at Prayagraj. Maity focused on capturing the essence of spiritual awakening and India's civilizational legacy.
Accompanying 'Jagriti' is 'Mystic Abode,' an immersive installation comprising 18 panels and more than 8,500 brass bells. This work aims to offer visitors a moment of calm, utilizing the bell’s symbolism across Hindu and Buddhist traditions. Maity believes these artworks enhance the airport's architectural design, which already echoes regional monuments and the ghats of Varanasi.
The artist's intention was to create memorable experiences for the millions of visitors, evoking beauty and emotional connection through art that reflects India's heritage. Maity is also known for a long mural at Indira Gandhi International Airport and works displayed in prestigious collections worldwide.
