A significant piece of Oasis history, an Epiphone EJ-200 guitar played by Noel Gallagher on hits such as "Wonderwall" and "Champagne Supernova," is set for auction. This iconic instrument was used during the recording of the Manchester band's landmark 1995 album, (What's the Story) Morning Glory.
The auction, held at Sotheby's in New York, will also feature a handwritten lyric sheet for the band's "Don't Look Back in Anger," estimated to sell for $40,000. The guitar itself is expected to achieve $80,000.
Further adding to the musical offerings are several items from American rock legend Elvis Presley. Among these is a personal bible and a red electric guitar, notably used during his 1968 "Comeback Special." This guitar, on which he played "Blue Suede Shoes," is predicted to command a price of up to $2 million.
Complementing these headline items are contributions from other celebrated musicians. Bruce Springsteen's acoustic guitar, used in writing "Born to Run," David Bowie's handwritten lyrics for "The Jean Genie," and a piece of Keith Moon's "Pictures of Lily" drum kit will also be presented for sale.
