John Scherer has joined Nocturnal Entertainment, a new financier and production company, as its Head of Development. There, he progressed from an assistant to Vice President of Development and Production, contributing to notable films and TV shows, including those by Mike Flanagan. Nocturnal Entertainment, launched in May, endeavors to offer filmmakers enhanced avenues for independent studio-quality film production. Their affiliated company, NantStudios, provides access to advanced virtual production infrastructure and previs tools. The company recently financed 'Play Dead,' a WWII thriller that sold to Netflix in May.
