Nivin Pauly in Court Over Forged Film Title
2 Dec
Summary
- Nivin Pauly testified in court regarding film title forgery allegations.
- Counter-complaints include cheating and criminal breach of trust claims.
- Dispute stems from financial disagreements over 'Mahaveeryar' and 'Action Hero Biju 2'.

Actor Nivin Pauly recently appeared at the Vaikom Judicial First Class Magistrate Court to provide his statement regarding an alleged film title forgery for 'Action Hero Biju 2.' This development follows Nivin's earlier complaint accusing co-producer PS Shamnas of forging a signature to acquire the sequel's title rights, a move that escalated into a legal battle.
The dispute took a significant turn when PS Shamnas filed a counter-complaint against Nivin Pauly and director Abrid Shine. Shamnas alleged that the duo concealed acknowledgment of payment and subsequently transferred distribution rights to another party. This has led to a case registered under non-bailable sections of the Indian Penal Code, including criminal breach of trust and cheating.
Shamnas claims the core issue traces back to the financially unsuccessful 2022 film 'Mahaveeryar,' asserting that Nivin had promised to repay Rs 95 lakh and involve him as a partner in 'Action Hero Biju 2.' Nivin's camp, however, maintains that the central problem is the alleged fraudulent acquisition of the sequel's title, which prompted his initial legal action. The actor is awaiting the release of his upcoming films 'Sarvam Maya' and the Tamil film 'Benz.'
