Rapper Niontay Reflects on Global Travel & Musical Growth

Milwaukee-born, Kissimmee-raised rapper Niontay is experiencing significant growth, both geographically and artistically. During a recent tour in France, he encountered distinctly different public amenities, noting "public pissing stations" as a peculiar observation.

His latest mixtape, "Soulja Hate Repellant," dropped in December. This release follows a significant year that included a US tour and international performances, solidifying his presence beyond being associated with other artists. The new tape offers a more relaxed yet confident sound, showcasing his lyrical dexterity.

Niontay, who has resided in New York for nearly a decade, recorded a substantial portion of the mixtape in the city. Sessions at Tony Seltzer's studio led to tracks like "3am@Tony's" featuring Lerado Khalil and "Cressidaway/Tpgeek" with Earl Sweatshirt. Niontay described one session as intense, admitting to 'tweaking' and fainting after its completion.

Reflecting on his current life stage, Niontay emphasizes the importance of family. Despite his success in music, he acknowledges a desire to reconnect and be more present with his family, recognizing how quickly time passes and his younger sister approaching college.
