In November 2025, it was announced that actress Nina Dobrev is set to star in and executive produce the erotic thriller drama "Night Float." The series is being developed by playwright and screenwriter Lila Raicek, along with production companies Made Up Stories and Fifth Season.
"Night Float" is adapted from Raicek's play "Vertebrae" and is described as a "propulsive exploration of desire and power, obsession and betrayal set against the dark underworld of New York City." The story follows an alluring young woman who moves into hospital housing to live with her resident boyfriend, only to become entangled with an older doctor who lures her into an illicit insider-trading ring.
Raicek, who has previously worked on series like "Younger" and "Gossip Girl," will write the adaptation. Dobrev, known for her starring role on the long-running CW series "The Vampire Diaries," will executive produce alongside Bruna Papandrea, Steve Hutensky, and Casey Haver of Made Up Stories. Fifth Season, where Made Up Stories has a deal, will serve as the studio for the project.
