Producer Nikhil Dwivedi has voiced his support for actor Ranveer Singh following a non-cooperation directive issued by the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE). The directive stemmed from Singh's withdrawal from the film 'Don 3'. Dwivedi raised concerns about the FWICE's approach, suggesting that preventing an artist from earning a living might be legally considered an unfair trade practice.
Dwivedi highlighted the importance of contractual agreements and mediation in resolving disputes. He stated that while film bodies serve a crucial role in facilitating reconciliation, their involvement should conclude if a settlement cannot be reached. In such cases, Dwivedi believes the matter should be taken to the courts for a legal resolution.
Adding to the ongoing dispute, Ranveer Singh reportedly sent a legal notice to FWICE. Veteran producer TP Aggarwal has also challenged FWICE's directive by filing a petition with the Bombay Civil Court. FWICE advisor Ashoke Pandit stated that their members would not work on Singh's projects, although he clarified it was not a ban.
