Night Market Studios, a new genre film label anchored in Singapore, has been unveiled by Third Culture Content. The company, co-founded by Janice Chua and Sean Dulake, will concentrate on elevated horror, thriller, and action-comedy films. A key feature of Night Market Studios is its focus on stories rooted in Asian settings and mythologies, with an eye toward franchise scalability.
"The Conjuring" writers Chad and Carey Hayes have joined the venture as executive producers. They will lend their expertise to the debut slate, which includes four films. These projects aim to blend commercial ambition with filmmaker-driven narratives that feel both culturally specific and globally cinematic.
The debut slate features diverse projects such as "The Damned," a supernatural horror film directed by Pawo Choyning Dorji, and "Coverband Heist," an action-comedy set in Jakarta, helmed by Angga Dwimas Sasongko.
Other announced films include "Imprint," a supernatural thriller set in the Philippines and directed by Marie Jamora, and "The Curse of Bali," a romantic horror-comedy. Third Culture Content operates across Los Angeles, Singapore, and Seoul, with leadership having prior experience in major film productions like "Crazy Rich Asians."
