Nigella Lawson has voiced her apprehension about joining the judging panel for The Great British Bake Off. Lawson, confirmed as the new host after Prue Leith's departure, shared her feelings on This Morning, admitting she is "really frightened" to take on the role previously held by Mary Berry and Prue Leith.

Lawson stated she is taking the new position very seriously, acknowledging the show's status as a "national treasure." Her primary goal is to provide a gentler critique for the bakers compared to her co-judge Paul Hollywood. She emphasized her focus on finding pleasure in the bakes rather than fault, contrasting with Hollywood's technical approach.

While excited, Lawson also expressed concern about her "clumsy" nature potentially disrupting the tent. Filming for the new season is expected to commence soon. Prue Leith announced her departure after nine years, stating it was the "right time to step back," while Paul Hollywood, Noel Fielding, and Alison Hammond will continue as hosts.
