Kidman hunts killer as Medical Examiner Kay Scarpetta

Nicole Kidman stars as the titular Kay Scarpetta in Prime Video's upcoming crime thriller series, "Scarpetta." This series adapts Patricia Cornwell's renowned Kay Scarpetta book series, with Liz Sarnoff serving as developer and writer. The narrative centers on Scarpetta's return to her position as chief medical examiner after a hiatus.

The trailer hints at flashbacks to a younger Scarpetta, portrayed by Rosy McEwen. The present-day murder cases Scarpetta investigates bear a striking resemblance to the one that prompted her departure from the role in 1998, suggesting a deeper connection.

Kidman is joined by a notable cast, including Jamie Lee Curtis as her sister Dorothy Farinelli, Bobby Cannavale, Simon Baker, and Ariana DeBose. The series also features actors portraying younger versions of these characters in a '90s timeline.

The plot intensifies as two women are found deceased near train tracks, sparking fears of a serial killer. Scarpetta becomes convinced that the current murders are intrinsically linked to her initial case, driving her relentless pursuit of the truth.
