Filmmaker Nicole Holofcener has unveiled her new television series, "Worried," at the Sundance Film Festival in 2026. The pilot episode of the series is based on Alexandra Tanner's 2024 novel, "Worry," which draws from Tanner's personal experiences of living in a cramped studio apartment with her younger sibling for six months.
The series "Worried" stars Gideon Adlon and Rachel Kaly as the sisters. Holofcener, a seasoned director with a history at Sundance, noted that only the pilot had been filmed and awaited series pickup. She emphasized the natural chemistry and believable honesty among the cast, which was a key reason for her involvement.
Rachel Kaly, also a writer and comedian, related to the characters, having shared a room with her own sibling, noting the constant bickering. Gideon Adlon, whose parents are also in the entertainment industry, found parallels in the characters' differing memories of family events, highlighting the script's realistic portrayal of sibling dynamics.
