In the latest development in the world of crime thrillers, Nicolas Cage is set to return to the role of the notorious gunrunner Yuri Orlov in the sequel to the 2005 film "Lord of War." Titled "Lords of War," the new movie is gearing up for production and is set to begin filming later this month in Belgium and Morocco.
Joining Cage in the cast are Sylvia Hoeks, known for her roles in "Blade Runner 2049" and "The Girl in the Spider's Web," as well as Greg Tarzan Davis, who has appeared in "Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning" and "Top Gun: Maverick." The two actors will star alongside Cage, Bill Skarsgård, and Laura Harrier in the highly anticipated sequel.
The film will see Cage's character, Yuri Orlov, go head-to-head against his own son, Anton, played by Skarsgård. Anton, a chip off the old block, has not only followed in his father's footsteps in the arms trade but is also amassing a mercenary army to fight America's conflicts in the Middle East. This sets up a bitter rivalry between the two, with the two even competing for the same women.
With FilmNation Entertainment representing the international rights and CAA Media Finance handling the domestic rights, "Lords of War" is poised to be a thrilling addition to the crime genre.
