Summary
- Nicolas Cage views MCU as a well-funded WWE.
- He starred in Sony's 'Spider-Noir' and played Ghost Rider.
- Cage sought noir style, not superheroics, for 'Spider-Noir'.

At a recent Fan Expo Dallas event, Nicolas Cage offered his candid thoughts on the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He humorously described the MCU as a "well-funded and glorified WWE," noting his amusement at watching numerous actors in elaborate costumes prepare for action sequences.
Cage, who has past ties to Marvel characters, including playing Ghost Rider in two films and starring in the recent 'Spider-Noir' series, clarified his perspective. The 'Spider-Noir' series, which concluded after one season, was based on the Spider-Man Noir character and set in the 1930s.
Speaking previously about 'Spider-Noir,' Cage revealed his attraction to the project stemmed from its planned black-and-white presentation, aiming for a classic film noir style. He sought to channel iconic actors like Humphrey Bogart and James Cagney, blending their essence with the 'Spider-Man' character for a unique visual effect. Cage admitted initial nervousness about the TV format, fearing his experimental approach might lead to dismissal.
