Nick Jonas has officially confirmed his return to the "Jumanji" franchise, reprising his role as Jefferson "Seaplane" McDonough in the upcoming sequel. The film, tentatively titled "Jumanji 3" and considered the fourth installment in the series, is scheduled for a global theatrical release on December 11, 2026. Jonas shared his excitement for "Jumanji round 3" through an Instagram Reel.
Production for the new "Jumanji" film began in Los Angeles in November 2025, with filming currently in progress. Jonas joins returning cast members Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan. Earlier in the week, Dwayne Johnson marked the completion of Danny DeVito's scenes with a tribute posted on February 17, 2026.
This "Jumanji" appearance coincides with a busy period for Jonas in early 2026. His fifth solo studio album, 'Sunday Best,' was released on February 6, 2026. This project, described as his most honest work, explores themes of family, love, faith, and his 20-year experience with Type 1 diabetes. The album features a stripped-down, organic sound, a departure from his previous pop-oriented work.
