Nia Long Recalls Prince's Missed Advance: 'I Didn't Know It Was Him'

Nia Long recently shared a memorable anecdote about an early encounter with music icon Prince. During a conversation on the Angie Martinez IRL podcast, Long revealed that Prince once approached her at a party before she achieved widespread fame.

Long admitted that she did not recognize Prince at the time and inadvertently rejected his flirtatious advances. She recounted her friend later revealing his identity, expressing frustration that she wasn't informed sooner. "If I knew it was Prince, I would have just turned around and said, 'Hello,'" she stated.

Years later, Long met Prince again after she had established herself as an actress. This second encounter was pleasant but lacked any romantic undertones, with their conversation focusing on Long's haircut. She confirmed that Prince was not attempting to flirt during this later meeting.
