The British thriller 'Next of Kin,' premiering April 3 on Lionsgate Play, delves into how a single tragic event can shatter a family's life. The narrative begins with the distant death of a British Pakistani doctor stationed abroad, with his London-based family receiving the devastating news piecemeal.

What initially seems like a contained grief soon transforms into a disturbing and complicated reality. The series' plot thickens when Mona Harcourt, played by Archie Panjabi, finds her life upended by her brother's abduction and death overseas on the same day a bombing occurs in London.

Created by Paul Rutman and Natasha Narayan, the ensemble cast includes Shabana Azmi, Archie Panjabi, Jack Davenport, Viveik Kalra, and Navin Chowdhry. Azmi expressed her natural inclination to join the project, citing her connection to British productions and director Justin Chadwick.
