New Order Members Out Due to Health

New Order has announced that Stephen Morris and Gillian Gilbert will be absent from their upcoming performance at the Primavera festival in Santiago, Chile, scheduled for November 26-28. The band cited personal health reasons as the cause for their inability to participate. This development means that Bernard Sumner will be the sole original member performing at the festival. He will be joined by musicians Phil Cunningham and Tom Chapman, who have been part of New Order's touring lineup since 2011. The band shared on Instagram that they are pleased to be returning to Chile after a seven-year hiatus but expressed sorrow that Morris and Gilbert cannot join them due to unavoidable circumstances. In related news, New Order and Joy Division are slated for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on November 14 in Los Angeles. Original bassist Peter Hook, who departed the band in 2007, indicated he would attend the ceremony but stated he would not stand near his former bandmates due to past conflicts. Hook expressed a preference for potentially performing with fellow inductees Oasis.
