Horror, Comedy, & Zombies: Summer's Last Blockbuster Weekend

This weekend marks the penultimate stretch of summer with a slate of new film releases, ranging from comedy to horror and zombie thrillers.

Roadside Attractions is releasing the horror-comedy 'Buddy,' featuring Keegan-Michael Key as a seemingly cheerful unicorn whose dark side emerges. This film has garnered an 87% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and has seen a promotional video go viral.

IFC is distributing Macon Blair's raunchy road-trip comedy 'Idiots,' starring Dave Franco and O'Shea Jackson Jr. Also from IFC is Joe Swanberg's 'The Sun Never Sets,' a drama with Dakota Fanning set in the Alaskan wilderness.

Well Go USA Entertainment presents 'Colony,' a Korean zombie thriller from Yeon Sang-ho, the director of 'Train To Busan.' The distributor is also releasing 'Legend Of The White Dragon,' a superhero film featuring actors from the 'Power Rangers' series, as a special event release.

Other notable limited releases include Focus Features' rom-com 'Finding Emily,' Kino Lorber's class-conscious drama 'Filipiñana,' and documentaries such as Orlando von Einsiedel's 'The Cycle Of Love' and David Kittredge's 'Boorman And The Devil.' Additionally, Abramorama's 'Hanging By A Wire' depicts a terrifying cable car accident in the Himalayas, and 'Disposable Humanity' explores Nazi eugenics.
