Made By Spooky, a new creator-first horror label, has been launched by the studio arm of Made By Us in collaboration with Image Nation Studios and Spooky Pictures. This initiative is set to house and produce original content, including short-form, vertical serialized, and longform intellectual property, all centered around digital native horror talent. The first projects are slated for release next year.
The formation of Made By Spooky reflects the increasing influence of the creator economy within Hollywood, particularly in the horror genre. This trend has been highlighted by the success of creator-led projects like 'Obsession' and 'Backrooms.' The new label will operate under the co-production partnership between Image Nation Studios and Spooky Pictures, contributing to their slate of upcoming projects.
Image Nation Studios and Spooky Pictures expressed their commitment to backing emerging voices in horror, noting that content creators are developing some of the most innovative genre ideas. Made By Spooky is seen as a strategic step to connect these creators with global audiences. Image Nation, with its roots in the UAE, has a longstanding business relationship with Schneider & Roy Lee's Spooky Pictures since 2020.
Made By Us, founded by Leanne Perice and co-led by Tanya Cohen, identifies original horror voices on platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and Meta. The company has recently secured a multi-year partnership with Dentsu Entertainment and a collaboration with TikTok for creator-led vertical micro-series, further solidifying its position in developing digital-first entertainment.
