A landmark Rs 40 lakh feature film co-production fund has been established by Humans of Cinema and Safarnaama Pictures to support emerging Indian filmmakers. This initiative addresses the critical need for financial backing, production expertise, and industry access for aspiring storytellers.
Globally recognized directors Vishal Bhardwaj and Shaunak Sen have joined as mentors, providing invaluable guidance. Shaunak Sen will also serve as an Executive Producer for the selected project, further bolstering its development.
The fund is open to Indian citizens aged 18 and above who have directed at least two short films or one feature. Applicants can submit their projects for a non-refundable fee, with a jury comprising industry professionals like Imran Khan and Arati Kadav set to evaluate submissions.
This venture aims to nurture independent cinema by identifying and supporting fearless new voices, helping them create festival-ready films with local audience appeal.
