Nevs Barbecue, a smokehouse in Palm Beach Gardens, gained significant attention after being featured on Food Network's "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives." The restaurant, opened in November 2022, navigated a challenging post-pandemic landscape by emphasizing slow-smoked meats and exceptional hospitality.
Owned by Tommy and Kelsey Nevill, Nevs Barbecue was discovered by the show through customer recommendations. Filming took place in late February, culminating in the airing of the "Sloppy, Spicy and Belly" episode on April 24. The feature highlighted signature dishes, including brisket burnt-end sloppy joes and a unique Texas-style chili passed down from Tommy's father.
Guy Fieri was particularly impressed by the chili and a house-made cornbread served with it, suggesting it could be sold widely. The national exposure has prompted Nevs Barbecue to prepare for increased customer traffic by expanding staff and merchandise.
Despite the newfound fame, the Nevills maintain a focus on family, keeping the restaurant closed on Sundays. They are also exploring expansion opportunities in Port St. Lucie and Orlando.
