Hurricane Sharks: New Thriller Hits Netflix

Netflix is set to launch the thrilling new movie "Thrash" on April 10, directed by Tommy Wirkola. The film plunges viewers into the heart of a coastal town besieged by a Category 5 hurricane, unleashing deadly sharks upon terrified residents. Star Djimon Hounsou can be heard rallying the troops in the trailer, signaling the intense action to come.

Phoebe Dynevor stars as a heavily pregnant woman whose ordeal includes battling devastating floods and killer sharks while simultaneously going into labor. Her character's determination to protect her unborn child drives a significant part of the narrative. Other cast members include Whitney Peak, Matt Nable, and Andrew Lees.

The production experienced several changes before its Netflix debut. Initially announced in 2024 as "Beneath the Storm" and later renamed "Shiver," the project was dropped by its original studio. Netflix ultimately picked up the film, leveraging its distribution deals for direct-to-streaming projects and Pay-1 licensing.

Dynevor has expressed her excitement for the film, describing it as a large-scale production featuring sharks, hurricanes, and a unique survival scenario for her character. The film promises a rollercoaster of intense moments and high-stakes drama within a 24-hour period.
