A new adaptation of Jane Austen's classic novel, Pride & Prejudice, is set to premiere on Netflix. The 6-part limited series will debut on December 3, bringing the beloved story of the Bennet family and their romantic entanglements to a new audience.
Dolly Alderton has penned the script, with Euros Lyn directing this ambitious project. The series centers on the Bennet family, particularly the five sisters, and their mother's quest to secure good marriages for them. The narrative focuses on Jane Bennet's budding romance with Mr. Bingley and the initial animosity between Elizabeth Bennet and the wealthy Mr. Darcy.
The stellar cast includes Rufus Sewell and Olivia Colman as Mr. and Mrs. Bennett, respectively. Emma Corrin takes on the role of Elizabeth Bennet, while Jack Lowden portrays Mr. Darcy. Other notable cast members include Freya Mavor as Jane, Daryl McCormack as Mr. Bingley, and Louis Partridge as Mr. Wickham.
This Netflix adaptation follows the release of a teaser trailer in February. It joins other recent interpretations of Austen's works, including a film adaptation of Sense & Sensibility.
