New Netflix Game: Codenames Party Mode

Netflix continues to broaden its gaming offerings with the recent addition of Codenames Party to its library. This new title is designed for accessible, family-friendly fun, allowing players to join games using just their mobile devices by scanning a QR code. No additional controllers or hardware are required, making it easy for anyone to participate. The game builds on the popular social word association game, Codenames, which originated as a tabletop experience.

The Netflix version introduces several play modes. It retains the classic team-based gameplay where a Spymaster gives clues to help their team guess specific words. Additionally, a new 'Case Studies' mode offers a different team dynamic. The most distinct new feature is the 'Party Mode,' which shifts the focus to individual play. In Party Mode, each player aims to create clues for their own set of eight words from a shared pool of 16, earning points for correctly guessed words and for their own clues being identified by others.
