Lord Miller, known for acclaimed films like Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and the upcoming Project Hail Mary, quickly took the spec script to market, where Netflix outbid multiple buyers to add it to their development slate. The adaptation will join Netflix's robust family-friendly film lineup, which recently included the hit KPop Demon Hunters and the upcoming live-action Narnia film from Greta Gerwig.
Lord Miller is also behind several other high-profile projects, including the MGM feature film Project Hail Mary, set for release in March 2026, and a slate of live-action and animated series based on Sony's Marvel characters. The company's co-founders, Chris Miller and Phil Lord, previously won an Academy Award for Spider-Verse and are currently working on the third installment, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, slated for 2027.
