Netflix Expands Podcast Slate with Star Power

Netflix is significantly boosting its podcast presence by commissioning several new original shows and renewing its current slate. The company is also integrating acquired podcasts into its platform, broadening its audio content offerings.

New podcast series will feature prominent personalities including comedian Katt Williams and author Harlan Coben, known for his hit Netflix series. YouTube personality Stephanie Soo, along with Kaelyn Moore, Meredith Hayden, Allison Kuch, and Isaac Rochell, are also part of the expansion.

Existing popular podcasts like "The Pivot Podcast" and "OUTLORE with Eleanor Neale" will join the platform. Additionally, Netflix is renewing its initial series such as "Murder with My Husband," "The Pete Davidson Show," and "Shut Up Evan."

With more than 60 podcasts now available, Netflix aims to provide a continuous stream of content across various genres like true crime, sports, comedy, and storytelling. These podcasts serve as a way for members to engage with beloved personalities and stories beyond traditional video content.

Brandon Riegg, VP of nonfiction series for Netflix, stated that podcasts allow members to delve deeper into their favorite genres and personalities at their convenience. He highlighted the curated selection available for listening or watching anytime, anywhere.

These podcasts also provide a new creative outlet for established talents, allowing them to explore new storytelling formats. Harlan Coben expressed excitement about creating his first original podcast with Netflix, focusing on plot twists and life-changing moments with a diverse range of guests.
