Filmmakers based in the U.K. and Ireland are invited to apply for the fourth year of the Netflix Documentary Talent Fund. This initiative offers five selected teams a budget of £30,000 to create a short documentary film, with the theme for submissions being 'CHANGE.' Applications officially open on January 9, marking a significant opportunity for emerging talent.
Shortlisted candidates will present their pitches at Netflix's U.K. headquarters in London during the summer of 2026. A panel, led by Kate Townsend, director of Netflix original feature documentaries, will select the winners. This program aims to support and elevate the careers of new documentary makers, providing professional guidance and resources.
The completed films, each between 8-12 minutes long, will be showcased on the Netflix See What's Next YouTube Channel after their festival runs. The fund has a proven track record, having supported 21 films to date and leading to notable achievements for its alumni in the film industry.
