Nellie Reed has officially launched her independent production company, Short Stack Productions. This new venture has quickly secured a significant, exclusive TV overall deal with the acclaimed indie studio A24.
Under this partnership, Short Stack Productions will focus on developing and executive producing a slate of ongoing and limited series for A24. Reed's initial hire for the company is coordinator Sophie Speciale.
Reed brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having previously established and led scripted television divisions for notable companies. She most recently served as the head of the scripted TV division at Story Syndicate, a role she held since its inception in 2023.
Prior to Story Syndicate, Reed was instrumental in building the television departments for Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson's Color Force, and Channing Tatum and Reid Carolin's Free Association. Her career also includes development experience at David S. Goyer's Phantom Four Films.
Reed's past work at Story Syndicate saw the company secure high-profile projects, including a straight-to-series order at Netflix for an adaptation of Jess Walter's novel 'So Far Gone' and a development deal at Apple TV for a limited series about the Claus von Bülow trial. At Color Force, she was involved in producing Emmy-winning 'American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace' and 'Impeachment,' among other series.
