Neil Young Cancels European Tour, Cites Unspecified Reasons

Neil Young has announced the cancellation of his upcoming European tour, initially slated to commence on June 19 in Manchester, England. The tour, which was to feature Elvis Costello & the Imposters on select dates, was set to conclude in Udine, Italy, on July 26. Young conveyed his decision through the Neil Young Archives, expressing regret to fans and explaining that "this is not the time" for the tour.

The tour cancellation comes shortly after Young's unique gesture of gifting his entire music catalog to the residents of Greenland. This act was presented as a response to perceived threats from the United States government. Young stated his hope that his music would provide comfort to the people of Greenland during stressful times, offering it as an act of peace and love.

Young had assembled the Chrome Hearts band in 2024, a group that includes notable musicians such as Micah Nelson and Spooner Oldham. This ensemble had been praised for its ability to adapt to various musical styles, from delicate melodies to more robust performances, keeping the artist energized and creatively engaged.
