Kidney failure was also listed as a contributing factor to his passing. Sedaka was reportedly rushed to a Los Angeles hospital hours before his death.
His burial occurred on March 3 at the Beth Olam cemetery in Los Angeles. Sedaka's family expressed their devastation, remembering him as a "true rock and roll legend" and an "incredible human being."
Known for 1960s and 70s hits like 'Breaking Up Is Hard To Do,' 'Oh! Carol,' and 'Laughter In The Rain,' Sedaka began his career in the 1950s and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1983.
He was a prolific songwriter, penning over 500 songs for himself and other artists, including 'Stupid Cupid' and 'Love Will Keep Us Together.' Sedaka had been married to Leba Strassberg since 1962 and they had two children.
